Five published works. Clinical evidence in every chapter, and whole woman care in all of them.
21 years of clinical practice distilled into five published books on pelvic power, Kegel science, and strength training after 40. Four are written for women. Ending Male Pelvic Pain is written for men.

Five books. Female Pelvic Alchemy. Ending Female Pain. Ending Pain in Pregnancy. Ending Male Pelvic Pain. The Pregnant Couple's Guide to Working Out Together.
I wrote them because I got tired of saying the same sentences over and over in a room in New York, while a woman in another state, in another country, needed those same sentences and had nobody to say them to her.
I've lectured across this country on pelvic health and on women's health. Half of my work is teaching women. The other half is teaching the professionals who see them, because that's where the gap actually sits.
More than 28,000 copies sold, almost all grassroots, one reader telling another.

The Ultimate Self-Help Guide for Women Suffering from Chronic Pelvic and Sexual Pain
414 pages, Duplex Publishing. This is the groundbreaking book where Isa first coined the Reverse Kegel, in the 2009 first edition. It arrived when nobody was talking about whole woman care in pelvic health, and it was the first of its kind. A multi layered manual fusing yoga, Pilates, internal massage, scar therapy, visualizations and vulva self care, drawn from her work as the Founder of Renew Physical Therapy in New York with women living with vulvodynia, vaginismus, interstitial cystitis, vestibulitis and endometriosis. The revised 2nd edition adds more than 100 pages.

Comprehensive and Easily Accessible Info
This is a fabulous book! As a vulvodynia sufferer, I have been helped by this book. I did not expect to gain as much knowledge as I did because I went through a lot of medical treatment and spent many weeks doing physical therapy. Plus, I have read a couple of other books […]. Ending Female Pain is well written and has nice black and while photos and illustrations. What helped me the most were the reverse kegels, the yoga stretches and the daily dilator exercises. If you have pelvic pain this book will not only educate you, but will give you concrete steps you can take to improve. I would highly recommend this book.

Finally a book that has it ALL!
As a pelvic floor educator, yoga instructor and reforming pelvic pain sufferer, i have to say this is the best book out there on the subject. I travel the country educating women about their pelvic floors and until now have only been able to refer the women who have tightness or pain to books that were lacking in some way. This book gives you the “how to” on every level. Very easy to read and understand for the lay person. Very clear and concise on instructions (for example on self massage). With this book, Isa can help others that cannot get to her office. Isa’s voice is loud and clear that her intent is to alleviate suffering. In the world of yoga, alleviating the suffering of others is one of the highest callings. She has my utmost respect as a pioneer in the field. Buy this book if you have pelvic pain. It is invaluable.

Information I simply haven’t received from my Gyn
Briefly, this book has so much information for many female pelvic floor issues (thats encompasses all that’s “down there” as the author puts it, LOL.) About the only thing she does not cover in detail is fibroids. She offers information and exercises and some diet restrictions for some issues, not all. There are simply things I’ve lived with as over the years I’ve been told there’s nothing to be done, or I get the impression not too many people ask or look for help. I tried to find the book a a better price but finally said it was worth the information, which I could say is in the ballpark of a copay cost, eh? And then its got a glossary that I can learn from and refer back to as needed, and a bibliography if I want to do further reading.
Thing is, I simply never heard of some of these things, so its a jumping off point in learning about and potentially healing from many ailments of this part of the female anatomy. A very worthwhile book.

A super actionable resource that gets you results!
I just bought this book and immediately connected with the message. I felt like she was talking about things that we as woman don’t normally talk about because it’s a taboo subject. I’ve been trying to care for myself better and was looking for a guide and something I could do on my own. The book is extremely actionable and provides a blueprint for taking care of yourself in a way that made sense to me.
I did some of the exercises and love them. They’re easy to follow with photos and descriptions and I was surprised at how simple it really is.
I totally recommend this book to any women who is trying to better herself, her pelvic floor. It helped me to understand me better. The book is a hidden gem.

A Must Read For All Pregnant Ladies!
As a fellow practitioner and prenatal/postnatal specialist, I highly recommend Ending Pain In Pregnancy. Herrera presents trade secrets and the fine tuning women need to address pain during pregnancy. Many classes and even one to one training don’t address the critical anatomy and exercises that are targeted in this book. Even if you are working out with a trainer and taking prenatal classes, put this on your radar.
Her approach is holistic and strengthens from the inside out. In addition she shows you very important self care body work. I always get asked the question, “What should I be doing on my own?” This is the manual that you should read. A must read for all pregnant ladies and post-partum moms before they have their 2nd, 3rd, and beyond.

Clear, direct, practical and specially tailored for men
I am a practitioner (manual osteopath) and after reading over 10 books on the pelvic pain subject which most of them were focussed on women, I finally found a concise, complete, clear, very practical and easy to apply guiding reference talking about men! This book is well structured and presents simple and clear action plans to help any men prevent/assess/understand/act on any pelvic region discomfort. I truly enjoyed how the author managed to make this information understandable for everybody without being caught into savi technical terms. I am impressed...

best in its field
This is the best book I’ve read on this subject matter and as such I thought I should bring to it some justice and rate it the way it’s deserved to be rated. ppl who suffer from urinary leakage not just pain can also refer to this book as there’s some ambiguity in the naming of this syndrome which not only manifest itself in pain but also in urinary and sexual symptoms so anyone with these kind of problems may be interested in reading this book
from a lay person who have been afflicted for a long long time by some of the problems that this book seek to solve I can say that I could only wish that I’ve crossed ways with the info in this book long time ago this is a syndrome which a lot of ppl suffer from silently this book not only offers a way to over come it but also offer a voice to those people without prejudice and with the most compelling understanding

Great book with good info
My wife and I started using this book last week. It’s full of great information and lots of pictures. My wife was feeling really fat with all the baby weight adn she really wanted to work out a little bit. Not really to get buffed, but to just get her blood flowing and increase her heart rate. We told this to our doctor and she suggested this book. My favorite part of this book is all the workouts are geared to the “couple” and this makes it fun.
★★★★★WeehawkenCP · March 2004
Completely Satisfied
I don’t understand why there aren’t any more books like this one...I have realized the importance of staying fit throughout pregnancy (my wife is in her 3rd trimester as I write this) - We have had this book from the first month of her pregnancy to now and it serves as our guide to working out with “bread in the oven.” Herrera, the author, has put together a book that makes it easy for my wife and I to do the stuff our doctor tells us to - but have fun and explore different ways of doing it. If there were a “6 Star” option, this book would get it.
